There are laptops available for loan from each of the self-service lockers in the following locations:

- Aldrich Library (Moulsecoomb)
- Falmer Library
- Checkland Building (Falmer)
- Social Area, Watts Building (Moulsecoomb)

Further laptops are available for loan at St Peters House Library (Grand Parade), held at the Helpdesk.

We're using Chromebooks for this service as they are fast, simple to use and you can get online and start using the web straight away.

Things you need to know...

You can access studentcentral, the Online Library, Office 365 and webprint from these devices so they are perfect for research and online resources. If you need more advanced programs, use one of the desktop computers instead.

All your data is forgotten when you close the lid. As these laptops are shared by lots of people, your downloads and browsing history are forgotten as soon as you close the lid or press the Exit session button. Remember to save your work regularly to your OneDrive folder, or to a memory device.

Downloads folder. When you download a file from the internet, it automatically goes into the downloads folder. Use Ctrl+J to access this folder and then save to your memory device or OneDrive.

You can borrow a laptop for up to 4 hours. Fines are charged at £1 per half hour if it's returned late so make sure you return and reconnect in plenty of time.

If you have fines or overdue library loans then you won't be able to use this service.

If you need help, ask one of the Student Helpers or a member of staff at the library Help Desk.
