Encouraging students to keep a reflective learning journal or log book can enable students to demonstrate an increased awareness and understanding of their own learning and an enhanced ability to handle and process concepts.

In order to engage students with the process you may first have to make the practice an assessed part of the module but once students understand how this can help with their learning they may be encouraged to continue with the practice.
 
If you’re interested in implementing an electronic journal or log book into your modules, please speak to your LTA about how best to implement it and give you examples of success, recommendations and what to avoid.
