Learning and teaching

Information Services provide support for learning and teaching through the equipment, library resources, and services we provide as well as advice for academics and course teams on embedding media and technology enhanced learning into your teaching.

eLearning

Your school's Learning Technology Adviser (LTA) consults with academics and course teams on embedding technology-enhanced learning into teaching. Your LTA can provide one-to-one support, guidance, and advice on using studentcentral and the adoption of other technologies, from e-submission to mobile technologies and more.

New staff can download a printable learning technologies induction (pdf).

Library Services

Information Advisers are based at each campus and coordinate provision and access to resources through the site libraries and the Online Library.

Your Information Adviser is here to support your teaching, by providing resources on your reading lists. Find out how to submit reading lists to your site library, and how you can get your reading lists online and embedded within studentcentral.

Information Advisers and other library staff can also deliver the following  workshops to your students on request (individually, in small groups or in class sessions):

  • Literature searching
  • Finding and evaluating information
  • Books, e-books and online journals
  • Referencing and Endnote
  • Using the library and services
  • Digital Media Copyright

Please contact your Information Adviser to discuss your specific teaching and resource needs. For Digital Media Copyright contact copyright@brighton.ac.uk.

Information Advisers at each site can also provide bespoke workshops and refresher training for staff. See the list of workshops for more information.
