 What is studentcentral?

Studentcentral is a secure online space for students that provides access to learning materials, assessment and other study related content, wherever and whenever they need it. Studentcentral comprises of range of collaborative tools for sharing information, as well as signposting to other University of Brighton services, such as libraries.

Studentcentral is a fully supported learning environment from the University of Brighton and links directly to the student records system (SITS). This means that all areas are fully populated with students – they do not need to enrol or join studentcentral to use it. Academic staff are supported by the eLearning team, who can advise on making best use of the platform and enriching the student experience.

     New to studentcentral?

These 5 tutorials will help you get started with studentcentral:

    1. Explore a Module area. All module areas are created automatically at the start of each academic year and are based on a standardised template.
    2. Add some content. You might start by just adding a copy of your lecture slides in the Study Materials area of your module.
    3. Access the grade centre. When you create electronic assignments (such as with Turnitin) you will need to access the Grade Centre.
    4. Check the users on your module. Students are automatically enrolled on each module based on information from SITS, however it's worth checking the right people are enrolled.
    5. Create an announcement. This is a great way of communicating with your students. How about welcoming your students to the module?
