Our Postgraduate Researcher Development Programme (PRDP) is a lively and challenging programme of workshops, events and seminars designed to support you through your doctoral journey. It is for you, with advice from your supervisors and the Doctoral College, to devise a training and support package that suits your needs. The 2017-18 programme, organised thematically to help you explore and navigate, can be viewed here.
To browse workshops in date order and to book a place, log in to PhD Manager and click Calendar on the left-hand menu. From there you can filter by event type (right-hand menu) and book a place by selecting a workshop and clicking Respond.
One of the 2017-18 PRDP highlights is our new Research Masterclass Series, a year-long programme of expositions and workshops given by research leaders on their research and methodology. All members of the university are welcome to attend. For details of the sessions, please visit our Research Masterclass page where you will also find a link to our growing video library of masterclasses.
Our PRDP workshops are usually held on Wednesday mornings and our masterclasses take place on Wednesday afternoons.
PhD Student Hub
Every month or so, also on Wednesdays, we have PhD Student Hub, a student-led initiative which invites students to get together over lunch to chat about research and research life. You can find out more on our blog and sign up (optional) on PhD Manager (filter by 'Social'). Students at any stage of doctoral study are welcome to come along.
